How Does an Ultrasound Massager Work?

Ultrasonic or ultrasound therapy uses sound pressure to achieve its healing and relaxing results. A sound frequency – at a level higher than that of normal human hearing – is repeated in a cyclical manner over and over again.

The absorption of this frequency or energy by the body, under the skin will produce heat and this is a common thermal effect. This is the effect that an ultrasound massager will produce; sound produces waves of vibration in the tissues which causes heat. Ultrasound therapy is used today in a variety of scientific, medical and research fields.

The benefits of these ultrasound techniques can be obtained wherever you may be by having a portable ultrasound massager. There are models available that are both portable or keep at home. Most units are shipped in a small case anyway so there is no problem on transporting them with you. A gel will be included with any decent massage kit and this must be administered before a treatment as it acts as an effective conductor for the sound waves as they enter the body via the skin. The skin alone is a poor channel of conductivity and you would likely burn yourself. Most reputable packages will come with gels and lubricants included; you don’t want any below par models. A session will usually last between 2 and 5 minutes and it is important to always read the instructions with these treatments. Most massage units will come with a variable range of power settings which you choose depending on the level of comfort you desire.

These tools are perfectly safe but you will achieve better results if you are completely sure of what you are doing.

Try a shiatsu neck massager or ultrasound massager for deep relaxation and well being at home.
